Sasamiya Saya (沙々宮 紗夜) is Amagiri Ayato's childhood friend and a student of Seidoukan Academy.
Appearance[]
Saya is described as a girl with short stature, comparable to an elementary school student. She has light blue shoulder-length hair, with choppy bangs, an ahoge, and two short braids secured with a yellow and black hairpiece. She wears the Seidoukan Academy jacket (but with a sailor collar on the back instead), a collared white shirt and black tie, and a black dress similar to Julis', but with additional white lines. On her left thigh, she has a gun holster, and wears orange and black socks that come slightly above her knees. She also wears clunky black and white low-heeled boots that have a blue stripe on the soles and black "collars".
During the time before the Lindwurm, Saya began to grow out her hair after receiving advice from a junior in the Meteor Engineering Club. She also replaced her socks with red knee high ones and switched to black shoes.
Personality[]
Saya is a drowsy-seeming girl, but is much more sharp and intelligent than she initially appears. She has a terrible sense of direction though. She often has an expressionless face which hides her emotions, but can be quite funny (unintentionally?), as well caring and loyal towards her friends such as when she complimented Kirin and helped rescue Flora for Julis. She has alot of affection for her father, unwilling to accept any slights against his skills or work, which was a major reason she joined the Phoenix Festa after Camilla initially scorned her father's work.
Background[]
Saya is Ayato's childhood friend, though they lost contact when Saya's family moved to Munich, Germany. She used to play with Ayato everyday before she moved, and kept in contact with him for a time after she moved. Though she later cut contact with him after a while as it painful for her to talk with him, with her finding it too painful to be so far away. She cut contact hoping she would be able to meet again with him in the future. She later admitted that it was a mistake to cut contact as she could have supported him in his time of need.
Saya's father is a meteoric engineering researcher, who designs and builds Luxes (mostly gun-type weapons) for Saya to use in battle (and for advertisement). This is a major reason why she joined Seidoukan Academy.

She has high level gun combat abiltiies but does not engage in duels for rankings, and also incorporates some of the Amagiri style into her combat
Sasamiya Lux:
- S Module (Sモジュール): Although incomplete, Saya is able to replace any damaged manadyte within her weapons to keep on using them.
- Type 38 Lux Grenade Launcher Helneklaum (三十八式煌型擲弾銃 ヘルネクラウム): Helneklaum's destructive capabilities were noted to be stronger than Amaryllis by Julis.
- Burst (バースト): Saya's Meteor Arts that was powerful enough to completely destroy a fountain.
- Type 39 Lux Laser Cannon Wolfdora (三十九式煌型光線砲 ウォルフドーラ): Wolfdora is over two meters long. Several windows appear around it before using its Meteor Arts. It is powered by forcibly linking three Manadite cores together, with the end result being that it has many limitations on usage.
- Sweep (掃射): Wolfdora's Meteor Arts, a pillar of light is fired that is capable of opening a huge hole in the reinforced walls of the training arena.
- Type 34 Heavy Wave Cannon Ark Van Ders Modified (三十四式波動重砲 アークヴァンデルス改): Ark Van Ders Modified is much taller than Saya. In addition to ranged combat, she can use it as a melee weapon.
- Burst (バースト): Saya's Meteor Arts that is capable of blasting the opponent across the arena.
- Type 41 Lux Twin Blaster Waldenholt (四十一式煌型粒子双砲 ヴァルデンホルト): A gun barrel covers each of her arms and her hair accessory turns into an alignment monitor. The Waldenholt fires two huge bullets of light that travel at a speed that seems to rip the atmosphere, and fast enough to make RM-C barely be able to dodge one of the bullets. The force of the blast sent RM-C into the wall on the other side of the arena and could've sent her through the wall if there wasn't a Defense Barrier around the arena.
- Full Burst (フルバースト): Saya's Meteor Arts with the Waldenholt that is capable of overpowering RM-C's Ruinshalef even if both are at maximum power.
- Type 41 Lux Homing Blaster Waldenholt Modified (四十一式煌型誘導曲射粒子砲 ヴァルデンホルト改): The overall design is similar to the Waldenholt except that it has a vernier control on the back unit and the barrels are increased to a total of six.
- Full Burst (フルバースト): Saya's Meteor Arts with the Waldenholt Modified.
- Handgun Lux: Saya owns a normal Handgun Lux.
- Type 35 Lux Gatling Cannon Granvaleria (三十五式煌型重機関砲グランヴァレリア): Granvaleria is a gatling cannon described to be as big as a log that's capable of firing 4000 times a minute. However, in order to achieve that firing speed, each blast is considerably weaker.
- Type 42 Lux Pile Blaster Ares Bringer (四十二式煌型杭打式粒子砲アレスブリンガー): Ares Bringer is a long and narrow cylindrical lux that covers Saya's right arm which she uses for high power close combat fighting. She developed the Amagiri Shinmeiryuu Sasamiya Cannon Sword Style to use with this lux.
- Type 42 Lux Super-large Caliber Particle Cannon Neunfairdelph (四⼗⼆式煌型殲滅級超⼤⼝径粒⼦砲ノインフェアデルフ): Neunfairdelph takes 99 seconds to deploy from Saya's backpack. After deploying it becomes around 90 meter long disk that uses 99 manadite pieces, connected using LOBOS transition method. It's said it looks like UFO. It can fire only once, and designed to cover whole arena with it's shot. Shot lasts a little less than 10 seconds. Being her super-weapon, it's was still not enough to actualy damage LN-T.
- Mana Granade (煌型⼿榴弾): Saya carries explosives. Mana granade, as name suggests, uses manadite crystals as explosive charge, which technicaly makes it a disposable lux. Mana granades are mass produced, but Saya customized her own to be more powerful. Those grenades were a great help against Orphelia's miasms.
Amagiri Shinmeiryuu (天霧辰明流): Saya learned a few techniques from Ayato when they were children to use during their practice matches.

- Shikibachi Bakusai (肆祁蜂・爆砕): Saya moves to her opponent's side and punches them with all her might, and at the same time an extremely powerful and extremely short range beam of light is fired.
Genestellar (星脈世代): As a Genestellar, Saya has enhanced physical ability and an aura known as prana.
Relationships[]
Amagiri Ayato[]
Saya's childhood friend. Before her family moved, the two frequently sparred with each other or against Amagiri Haruka, Ayato's older sister. They were close friends, and resumed this close friendship once they reconnected at Seidoukan Academy. She is more open with her emotions around Ayato than anyone else, and has said that she wants to be their for him when he needs her. She also has a crush on him, later confessing to him.
She also likes to scare/prank Ayato having jumped out of trees or onto his balcony before. She wanted Ayato to be her partner in the Phoenix Festa, and later was part of the same Gryps Festa team. She is shown to support Ayato whenevever he needs help, and be occasionally jealous when he spends time with other girls over her. She highly rates Ayato both as a person and as a duelist.
Toudou Kirin[]
Kirin and Saya became friends after a short while of meeting each other. The 2 were partners during the Phoenix Festa. They have a high regard of each others skills, and care for each other as Saya noticed Kirins injuries and did not want to risk her aggravating it more during the semi-finals of the Phoenix festa.
Julis Riessfeld[]
Originally they were somewhat cold to each other with Saya being jealous that Julis was "monopolizing" Ayato's time, while Julis was irritated over Saya being Ayato's childhood friend. However after training with one another and spending more time as a group together with Ayato and Kirin, they became friends culminating in them addressing each other by their first names when Saya and Kirin declared that they will save Julis's friend Flora. She views Julis as a rival for Ayato's affection, though she still respected her and was friends with her. They both were part of Claudia Enfield's winning Gryps team.
Trivia[]
- According to the author, Saya's birthday is February 10th, her horoscope is Aquarius, and her blood type is B.
- Saya has a terrible sense of direction and is not a morning person. She once stated she overslept for the reason she missed class (which was Ayato's first day).
- Since she was a child she recieved custom guns from her father for her birthday
- She and Ayato used to compete and exchange favour tickets with each other when they were young.
- She was the one who got Ayato to announce his techniques outloud stating that it sounded so cool when they were kids.
- She seems to like climbing trees, having been shown to jump out of trees several times both as a teenager and a kid.
