Gakusen Toshi Asterisk (学戦都市アスタリスク), is a Japanese light novel series written by Miyazaki Yuu and illustrated by okiura. The series has been published by MF Bunko J since September 2012 and also has a spin off, Wings of Queenvail.
The light novel series has been adapted into an anime series, which was animated by A-1 Pictures and aired from October 3 to December 19, 2015. A second cour aired from April 2, 2016 to June 18, 2016. The series has been also adapted into a manga series illustrated by Ningen, which was serialized in Gekkan Comic Alive from May 2013 to September 2016.
Plot
In northern Kanto, there is a school that floats on a crater lake, known as Suijou Gakuen Toshi Rikka, more commonly known as Asterisk.
Searching for his sister, Amagiri Ayato arrives at Asterisk. On his first day there, he catches a handkerchief blown in the air. Through that incident he meets Julis Riessfeld, and Ayato begins his challenge to win all three Festa.

Anime
A 24 episode anime adaptation was produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Ono Manabu, and the first cour aired in Japan from October 3 to December 19, 2015, while the second cour aired from April 2 to June 18, 2016. The first cour of the anime was collected into six DVD and Blu-ray Disc sets which were released from December 23, 2015 to May 25, 2016. The second cour of the anime will also be collected into six DVD and Blu-ray Disc sets which are scheduled to be released from June 22, 2016. The first cour covered the first three volumes while the second cour covered volumes 4 through 6.
Music
Rasmus Faber of Farplane Records is in charge of the music for the anime. The anime uses Brand-new World as its opening theme and Waiting for the rain as its ending theme for the first cour and uses The Asterisk War as its opening theme and Ai no Uta -words of love- as its ending theme for the second cour.
Game
A video game based on the Phoenix Festa for the PS Vita was released in Japan on January 28, 2016, and will be published digitally in the Americas on July 26 2016. It covers the entire duration of the Phoenix.
